A careful first step toward exploring whether a retreat is right for you
If you’re considering a Ground Health retreat, the first step is a confidential screening call. This is a calm, human conversation — not an assessment or application — designed to help explore suitability, answer questions, and ensure safety for everyone involved.
Why we begin with screening
Psychedelic experiences can be meaningful and powerful, but they are not suitable for everyone at every moment in life. Screening allows us to ensure that participation is appropriate, to clarify expectations, and to protect both participants and facilitators.
This process exists to support informed choice — not to persuade or filter unnecessarily.
What the screening call is - and isn’t.
The screening call is:
A private, confidential conversation
A chance to ask questions and discuss your intentions
A way to explore suitability and readiness
An opportunity to understand our approach in more detail
The screening call is not:
A medical or psychological assessment
A commitment to attend a retreat
A place to share detailed personal history
A guarantee of acceptance
-
You’ll have a confidential call with a member of our team to discuss your interest, questions, and any initial considerations.
-
If a retreat feels appropriate, we’ll invite you to complete a more detailed intake and discuss next steps. If not, we’ll explain why with care and clarity.
-
For accepted participants, preparation and integration support are part of the journey — not add-ons.
-
There is no obligation to proceed beyond the screening call.
What happens next
This first step may be right for you if …
You’re curious but cautious
You want a legal, responsibly held experience
You value preparation and integration
You prefer conversation over forms
You’re open to being told “not yet” if appropriate
If you’re seeking a recreational or unsupervised experience, our retreats are unlikely to be a good fit.
Who is this step for
-
The call is scheduled for 45 minutes. Typically, calls last between 30 minutes and 1 hour. We take the time you need to ensure that you, and we, have enough information to make a clear and informed decision.
-
No.
-
Just come with the questions you may have.
Please note that when you scheduled call, there is a brief form that allows you to provide us with relevant background as starting point to our discussion.
You are under no obligation to share any information that you don’t wish to. This is true at every step of the journey together.
-
Apart from the obvious administrative details, you only share the information that you are comfortable in sharing with the individual Ground Health staff members.
